About This Event

Bhai Dooj / Bhai Phonta - Celebrating Sibling Bond

The final day of Diwali festivities honoring the sacred bond between brothers and sisters with tilak ceremony, prayers, and family gatherings.

The Sister-Brother Festival

Bhai Dooj celebrates the love between brothers and sisters. Sisters perform aarti, apply tilak, and pray for their brothers' long life and prosperity, while brothers give gifts and promise protection.

Traditional Ceremony

  • Tilak Application: Sister applies kumkum or sandalwood tilak on brother's forehead
  • Aarti: Sister performs aarti for brother's wellbeing
  • Sweet Exchange: Feeding each other traditional sweets
  • Gift Giving: Brother presents gifts to sister
  • Blessings: Exchange of blessings and good wishes

Mythological Significance
